The First Cast Youth Fishing Seminar is an annual event that introduces young people to the exciting sport of fishing and aims to inspire the next generation of aquatic and community stewards.
Our experienced team of fishing enthusiasts will cover:
Basic safety instruction
Beginner's rigs, baits, and casting
Fishing terminology and fish identification
Catch & release techniques.
The event is open to all ages, no experience needed. Registered participants will receive a rod, reel, tackle, and bait- everything needed for a day of fishing fun! All in attendance are invited to attend a community cook out following the event provided by The Village of Coal Grove.
Registration is free. Please complete a separate form for each child participant. In person registration is available on event day beginning at 8:30 a.m. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. Any child 16 and older must have a valid fishing license in the State of Ohio to participate in the event.
This day of community is made possible by generous grant funding provided by 21st Century Endowment Fund of the Foundation for the Tri- State Community, Inc., Ohio Department of Natural Resources, and Union Sportsmen's Alliance, in collaboration with The Village of Coal Grove.
