So what is Third and Center?
Third and Center is a non-profit organization that utilizes arts to inspire community impact. The grass-roots organization strives to inspire people to be the change they wish to see in their community. What do we mean by that? The organization was structured to make it easier for citizens to organize and facilitate projects they want to make happen in their community without having to form their own 501(c)(3).
It’s a unique concept, but so far it’s working beautifully.
At its core Third and Center is an arts based non-profit dedicated to building collaborative communities. The organization was formed in 2019 with the mission of serving as a conduit for community building by facilitating conversation, connection, and collaboration amongst those desiring to positively impact their community. The organization’s name is more than a geographical location in Downtown Ironton, Ohio. Third spaces are places where we spend time, between home and work, exchanging ideas, building relationships, and strengthening our communities. These are the places Third and Center hopes to see created through its programming and projects, and places we hope to inspire others to create as well. We believe that investing in the arts and in our young people will help create a thriving and stable community and act as a catalyst for future economic growth of our city, county and Appalachian River Region.
